Saxon - Inspirations

You can’t love rock n’roll without headbanging with NWOBHM and you can’t be into that, without knowing how to scream while singing Saxon lyrics! The dudes are solid, even more than the ball of rock, they travel with their Hunting intentions and planes, during the years, to be present in 2021, in the midst of a pandemic, with a fabulous album!

An album of covers ain’t a cliché, it’s something that they never did. Saxon come out with lots of albums, great quality but songs of theirs and not of other rockers, that’s why hearing something like that is beyond their “behind the scenes” or autographs or interviews….

They start paying tribute to their loved groups of rock by covering that anthem we love, that outta Earth description of the Stones, in a metal version, yet with the pounding drums but with a wilder guitar! That might also be their invitation to get dressed in Black and daaaaance with the ending song of Al Pacino in the movie!

Saxon is one of those groups with members that now can be considered as a part of their classic albums, since the 70’s and during their glorious, yet underrated nineties.

A short Beatles song, but fueled with a louder rhythm comes next and it don’t matter if it’s a commercial one or not, Saxon beautifully play their version of it!

Now it’s time to get evil, to love women for being so, the sexy ones you can make love to while listening to “Unleash the beast” or “Metalhead”, as we listen to their Sabbath cover which I’m sure Ozzy approves of! You can hear the bass line, as we think it’d be a great idea if they do cover more Birmingham hits.

Who’d think they’d cover Hendrix?! But here they are, channeling his psychotic charisma through the British raw protest of doing as we please! Jimi travels beyond every border, wanting to be free and Saxon take that travelling spirit with them in the loudest events, coming soon!

Now, get ready to fuckin’ Explooooooooode! It’s their touring years with Lemmy, their nasty moments, described in the sexy rhythm of the screaming words of “Bomber” ! This is about girlssssssss and how they make our blood burn!

In the House of Blue Light, long before the album was released, Deep Purple wrote “Speed King” and the craziness of Saxon guitars only makes it harder, better, for those who live for metal  and live for concerts!

And when you think they can’t be sweet, they cover Toto……and when you think this is the ending of the album, you hear the New Wave version of “Problem Child”!

Get looooooooooud, stay wild, welcome your madness through the guitar riffs, don’t give up, and ROCK THE HELL OUTTA ANYTHING YOU WANT!

8/10
