Jeremy Neale checks in for punk rock ‘Simpsons’ cover

Queensland indie-pop rocker Jeremy Neale is the latest talent to contribute vocals Dan Cribb’s year-long punk rock tribute to The Simpsons, joining the WA artist on a musical journey through the Betty Ford Center.

In ’97 when the Simpsons made their way to New York, Marge, Bart and Lisa went to see musical Kickin’ It, which featured the hit You’re Checkin’ In – an original number that won an Emmy award, among others.

“While You’re Checkin’ In’ isn’t too well known compared to some of The Simpsons‘ other hits – all of which I will get to in this project – it has some insanely catchy melodies and lends itself perfectly to becoming a punk rock tune,” Cribb said.

“The song has a pretty wide vocal range that Jeremy nailed. His voice is magic and he’s a super nice dude.”

You’re Checkin’ In is the sixth track on Worst Tribute Ever and sees Neale join the likes of Alex Lahey, Tyler Richardson (Luca Brasi), Jesse Coulter (Grenadier) and more who have also contributed to Cribb’s project.

After releasing charity single, Party! (Everybody In My Neighbourhood), last December and only last week signing a new bookings deal, Neale’s looking at a big 2017, especially as he chips away at his debut solo LP.
