INTERVIEW: Chuck Billy – Testament

Testament

San Francisco thrash legends Testament are back with a new album, 4 years after their successful “Dark Roots Of Earth” album came crashing into the hands of their fans. With a world tour in the works and a possible trek to Australia, we get the lowdown from frontman Chuck Billy on the future plans as well as some insight into the process of how the new songs came together.

Chuck: Once it was all done and once we got all the mixes, things changed and smiles came to our faces like, ‘Shit this is coming together, it’s sounding good!’ Some of these tracks, I think we outdid the last record and I think we accomplished some things that we had set out to do on it. We definitely set out to make a more thrashier, faster record and try to get a bigger drum sound. You always try to get better production and a better mix, I think we got a pretty good mix on this one and it all came together in the end and I think what we had to go through to get to it, maybe that was a good thing.
