Melbourne’s Justin Yap Band burst onto the blues scene in 2016 with a knockout sophomore album ‘Let Love‘, and have put a swag of class festivals and headline shows under their belt since. The soul-infused 5-piece is headed north this Summer to show new audiences why ‘Let Love’ hit number 1 on the Australian Blues Airplay Chart upon release, why it’s remained remained in top 25 for the past 5 months, and why the band have been nominated for Group of the Year and Best New Talent at the upcoming Australian Blues Music Awards.
The Justin Yap Band weaves seamlessly through soul, funk and blues – drawing influences from the sounds of Muscle Shoals, New Orleans, and 70’s soul. The band place tone, vibe, and performance above clinical perfection – and this feeling has seen Yap and his crew position themselves as ‘ones to watch’ in the busy Melbourne live scene.
