Cosmic synth/psych collective ARCADEA unleash their mind-bending self titled album.
“A dark planet soon finds its way into a dying solar system. Feeding on the disaffected moons of cold planets, it grows stronger.
Driven by an intergalactic being at its core, it works out its dark machinations to challenge the sun, gravity and time itself.” – Core Atoms on the celestial story behind “Magnificent Facade”
Additionally, watch the mind-tripping new video, directed by Core Atoms (keys/vocals/samples), for “Army Of Electrons”
Arcadea was born when drummer-vocalist Brann Dailor (Mastodon) teamed up with upside-down guitarist & keyboardist Core Atoms (Zruda) to create a synth-laden progressive, heavy psych band.
Adding guitarist Raheem Amlani (Withered) on synth, the three recorded their visionary, 10 song synth odyssey at Orange Peel Studios in Atlanta, GA.
Unlike their other bands, Arcadea uses only keyboards in a unique blend of crushing, organic drums and psychedelic synthesizers. The music is at once electronic but not electronica, synthetic but not processed, heavy but not metal.
The album envisions a future 5 billion years from now, where the impending collision of galaxies creates a new order of planets. Where cold, distant moons pledge alliance to new suns and expanding gas giants implode into black holes. Ancient drones, forever adrift, record toxic tales of love between dying stars. Where lifeforms in suspended animation, dream among the ice rings of Saturn and cosmic war wages among gods and planets. It is in this universe that Arcadea reign supreme as the last surviving space wizards since the final extinction.
The official 360-degree visualizer video for the song ‘Rites Of The Locust’ from legendary blasphemers INCANTATION has been unleashed.
The song, a weapon of anti-biblical proportions, is one of eleven new tracks engineered to showcase the band’s inherent – and unrivaled – musical, lyrical, and visual depravity on their forthcoming 10th studio album, entitled Profane Nexus.
The album drops on August 11th via Relapse Records, the very same label that released the band’s suffocating-yet-groundbreaking debut effort, Onward To Golgotha, over a quarter of century ago.

Incantation founding father, John McEntee, had this to say regarding the direction of the video:
“With the advent of 360-video visualizer technology, we were able to convey the song’s powerful imagery alongside the intensity of the music. This song is an example of one of the more aggressive songs on the album. We feel it’s the perfect representation of death metal and everything an Incantation fan wants. Rage motherfuckers!”
Death metal pioneers INCANTATION triumphantly return to their original label Relapse Records to vomit forth another unholy offering of godless abominations on Profane Nexus, their formidable tenth full-length album. Embodying a dizzying array of blasphemous tracks – culminating in sacrilegious conquests, crushing dirges, and vile riffing – Profane Nexus is an obliterating-ly heavy execution of disgusting death metal that further solidifies the band as one of extreme music’s most influential and consistently hailed artists of the past thirty years.
Recorded at the band’s own Incantation Studios in Johnstown, PA and mixed/mastered by Dan Swanö (Bloodbath, Asphyx, Dark Funeral), Profane Nexusis perhaps the finest example of pummeling death metal and disemboweling funeral doom ever conceived.
