Fremantle Folk Festival 2017 announced for October 14th at Princess May Park

Fremantle Folk Festival 2017

After last year’s hugely successful debut, we are thrilled to announce that the Fremantle Folk Festival will return to Princess May Park on the 14th October, 2017.

Freo Folk Fest is a family-oriented celebration of music, food, culture and everything we love about Fremantle. This year will be even bigger and better than the last, with some amazing acts joining in the fun.

World-renowned Broome band, The Pigram Brothers will headline this year’s Festival, and we couldn’t be happier! This will be their only show to celebrate the 20 year anniversary of their iconic and beloved album ‘Salt Water Country.’

Joining them will be the incredible talent of the likes of Kav Temperley (Eskimo Joe), Soukouss Internationale, Toby Beard, Lloyd Spiegel, The Fling, Mitch King, Stella Donnelly, Timothy Nelson, Old Blood, Jim Fisher and the Hamilton Hillbillies, Bambuseae Rhythm Section, King of the Travellers, Carla Geneve, Dillip and the Davs, Racoo Charles with the Moke Folk, Dan Howls, Jack Davies and the Bush Chooks, Creatures of Habbit, DJ General Justice and more to be announced closer to the date.

Circus WA and their Big Top make for a lively new addition to the Folk Fest family. Kids circus workshops will run throughout the day to keep young bodies active and entertained, and the west side of Princess May Park will be our ‘Kid’s Zone’ where littlies can chill out away from the noise of the stage. Along with face painters, Farmer Damian, nature play areas and many more kids activities, there is something for the whole family to enjoy.

The evening will see the Big Top transform into a very hip and more intimate third stage. Along with our food vendors, craft beer, wine and cider stalls, roaming entertainment, night sky light installation and more, the 2017 Fremantle Folk Festival promises to be the best day out you will have all year!
