Residing from West Melbourne, Australia’s Stranger bring a new sound to the alternative- punk rock genre that has been currently defining much of the music scene around Australia and the world. Taking influence from much loved local and well known bands with powerful, earthy sounds like Basement, Ci*zen and Taking Back Sunday, mixed in with catchy and ‘stuck in your head’ melodies from the likes of Paramore, The Smith Street Band and Luca Brasi and using knowledge from years of songwriting and live experience to create a new and unique sound for audiences to love.
Having spent a year writing, recording, mixing and mastering which was all done by Tom, the singer and songwriter for the band, Stranger are ready to release a brand new E.P named Bones and Ghosts. Listen to the EP exclusively here:
Tom, after playing in several local and na8onally known bands such as Check your Smile, This Fiasco and Daydreamer, and having toured from east to west coast and playing countless shows, put away his love for drums, click tracks and synthesizers for a return to heavier bands and focused purely on writing emotional and connecting music on guitar. Being a multi–instrumentalist singer and having a keen knowledge on producing, wrote demo after demo while also finding the perfect bandmates to join, and who else than his own brother John on Guitar, a long time school friend Josh on Drums and Laine, who Tom met through the music scene and also a friend for many years.
Upon releasing their EP, Stranger plan on booming through the scene, and reaching a huge spectrum of new listeners. Look out for Stranger to be playing your local venues and festivals throughout the year, sharing their incredible live show throughout Australia.
