The wait is almost over for David Byrne’s highly anticipated return. Next week, the musician, writer, visual artist, and filmmaker kicks off the 6-date Australia and New Zealand leg of his Who Is The Sky? world tour, with Sydney sold out and final tickets remaining in Auckland and Melbourne.

The tour has already travelled across America to rave reviews, with Byrne declaring “This show is more ambitious than anything I’ve ever done”. Byrne will launch the new year Down Under before continuing to the UK, Europe and North America, with appearances at festivals including Coachella, Roskilde, Latitude, and more.

Backed by over a dozen untethered musicians – an approach he debuted in his 2018 American Utopia tour – he blends solo work with Talking Heads favourites (including playing ‘Psycho Killer’ live for the first time in 19 years), in a performance that’s euphoric, expansive, and unmistakably special.

Released in September 2025, Who Is the Sky? is Byrne’s first album since releasing the acclaimed 2018 American Utopia, which was later adapted into a hit Broadway musical and a Spike Lee HBO film. Who Is The Sky? was produced by the Grammy-winning Kid Harpoon (Harry Styles, Miley Cyrus), while its 12 songs were arranged by the members of New York-based chamber ensemble Ghost Train Orchestra. Guests include Paramore’s Hayley Williams, St. Vincent and The Smile drummer Tom Skinner.

Don’t miss what promises to be one of the year’s most extraordinary live experiences. Tickets on sale now via frontiertouring.com/davidbyrne
