The Oxys from Austin, Texas premiere a new video today for “Long Shadows” from their upcoming studio album titled, Casting Pearls Before Swine, out September 19, 2025 on Cleopatra Records. Formats include vinyl LP/CD pre-order HERE and digital pre-order HERE.
“This is Phil’s lyrical genius hard at work,” says The Oxys’ co-founder and guitar player Jason “Ginchy” Kottwitz. “I simply wrote the music and most importantly, my favorite guitar solo on the album. Much more melodic than usual. This is one of my favorite songs to play in the set. The musical energy I aimed to convey in this piece really comes through both live and on the record.” Frontman and co-songwriter Phil Davis says, “’Long Shadows’ stalks the line between thrill and fallout, a raw, relentless reflection on compulsion, consequence, and the ghosts we drag behind us.”
The Oxys began back in 2021 when Ginchy (Dead Boys, Sylvain Sylvain and the Sylvains) and frontman Phil Davis managed to smash the monotony of pandemic life by channelling their collective energy into music and creativity. By December of 2022, they put out their first full length record, A Date With The Oxys (Dead Beat Records). Following much critical acclaim for their debut, they delivered Generation Irrelevant just 12-months later, again garnishing favourable worldwide press. With rhythm guitarist Genocide, bassist Michael Harpel and newest addition drummer Logan Flaherty, the band is ready to hit the road in 2025. Dates already confirmed are listed below and will be updated HERE.
