Rose Carleo Band are proud to announce the release of their emotionally charged new single, ‘Daisy’s Song’, out Friday May 9, 2025 on all major streaming platforms. With roots deep in Australia’s rich rock heritage, Rose Carleo Band has long been known for its powerhouse sound, dynamic live shows, and frontwoman Rose Carleo’s commanding vocal presence. Blending blues-infused rock with heartfelt storytelling, the band has built a loyal following and a reputation for authenticity and energy. While their music typically leans into hard and heavy rock ‘n’ roll, their new single, ‘Daisy’s Song’, marks a bold and deeply personal shift in tone — one that shines a light on vulnerability, resilience, and the power of human connection.
‘Daisy’s Song’ is special in that it is a collaborative project with others outside of the band. The original lyrics were written by a long-time friend of the band’s guitarist, Mick Adkins and when presented with the draft, Mick and Rose were immediately drawn to the sentiment and seriousness of the subject matter – a desperate plea by someone who has found that last ounce of hope and strength to ask for help. Mick’s mate, Darren ‘Daisy’ Booth had put pen to paper and let it all out. Years of struggling with mental health issues including severe depression, anxiety and alcoholism culminated into an outpouring of a truly heartfelt and poetic composition. What started as a rough draft back in 2021 has now transformed into a full-scale song-writing and recording project. When presented with the edited lyrics and song arrangement, Rose created the soulful melody in the verses and collaborated with Mick adding her inimitable passion to the soaring chorus line. With the demo finished, it was duly put forward as Rose Carleo Band’s next single to be recorded at Alias Music with long time engineer, producer and close friend, David Manna.
‘Daisy’s Song’ is best described as a mood-laden, mid-groove rocker with moments of transparency in its lyrical content as well as its instrumentation. Rose sings with her heart on her sleeve and you can’t help being drawn into the spirit of the song – it is both emotional and uplifting with a chorus that will hopefully bring people together to share their experiences. ‘Daisy’s Song’ will also be the first release from the band featuring its new bassist, Bill Kervin. Bill was asked to join the band upon the departure of founding bassist Steve King who had re-joined iconic Australian rockers, Rose Tattoo. Fortunately, Bill was no stranger to the band having filled in on occasion and also played alongside the band’s drummer Mick ‘Shady’ O’Shea in the past performing with Dragon and Swanee.
