WWE® Returns to Australia with Elimination Chamber: Perth

WWE has landed in Perth!

WWE has always been paired with rock & metal music, with many of it’s superstars encompassing music of those genres as their entrance themes. So it was a huge privilege when The Rockpit was invited to cover one of Perth’s, and even Australia’s biggest events of 2024.

In partnership with the Western Australian Government through Tourism Western Australia, the Elimination Chamber will be kicking off here in Australia for the first premium live event to be held down under since Super Show-Down took place in 2018 and with this being WWE’s only event in the Asia-Pacific region in 2024 it’s sure to be explosive!

With an estimated 50,000 fans heading down to the Optus stadium this weekend, (and broadcasting live in approximately 165 countries in 25 languages and seen in more than 1 billion homes) there will be plenty to see with the men’s elimination chamber match featuring Randy Orton, Drew McIntyre, Bobby Lashley, LA Knight, Kevin Owens & United States Champion Logan Paul. The winner of which will head to Wrestlemania to challenge World Heavy Weight Champion Seth ‘’Freakin” Rollins.

The women’s elimination match is noted to feature Becky Lynch, Bianca Belair, Liv Morgan, Tiffany Stratton, Naomi and Raquel Rodriguez, with the winner there becoming the #1 contender to the Women’s World Title. The match that everyone is waiting for is undoubtedly Australia’s own Rhea Ripley defending the women’s world title against Nia Jax.

Tensions rose at Friday’s press event with Logan Paul gate-crashing Randy Orton & Kevin Owens stage time, before trashing talking Perth and it’s residents. A face off with Owens led to the pair tussling before being split up by WWE Chief Content Officer Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque and The Viper.

With tensions and temperatures sizzling throughout the event, current WWE Women’s Heavyweight Champion and homegirl hero Rhea Ripley gave opponent Nia Jax chance to cool off, showering her face with cool drink before reiterating her quest to hold on to her belt.

The biggest cheer of the afternoon went Grayson Waller who convinced Ripley to take part in a ‘shoey’, as both knocked back an ice cold beer under the blazing Perth sun. The Rockpit managed to get some time with Kevin Owens, Tiffany Stratton & Rhea Ripley – These interviews will be up in the coming days. We will also have full coverage of the main event from this Saturday, when we head to WWE: Elimination Chamber.
