Blue City Wailers play Chicago inspired blues from the Perth area newly formed with homegrown members and players from New Zealand and England playing gritty authentic covers and originals. Blue City Wailers feature Adam “Careless” Norton on harp, Brad “Edgar” Wintle as lead vocalist / lead guitarist, Grant ‘Big G’ Hills on the drums and Ned Holthouse on bass. Adams influences include Big Walter Horton, Little Walter, Junior Wells and all the major Chicago Scene players. Brads influences include Albert King, Albert Collins, Freddie King, BB King, Robben Ford and Eric Clapton. Adam also favours static crystal microphones as used by the major players in the 50’s to the 70’s, marine band harps and a heavily modified Fender Super Reverb for live work.
8.45pm. Kyra Bee & the Illegals.
Kyra Bee and the illegals are a five-piece soulful, blues-based Perth Hills ensemble who delight audiences everywhere they play. Runner up in the Bridgetown International Blues Competition in 2016 they continue to perform in venues in and around Perth city. With covers from Etta James, Amy Winehouse, Muddy Waters, Imelda May, B.B King, Kaleo, Beth Hart and Big Mama Thornton, plus some bluesy originals, you will be taken on a sultry, soulful and spell-binding journey through some of the world’s most well-loved classics.
