Perth power metallers Silent Knight release their heavy metal rendition of “Dreams” by Van Halen

Silent Knight

Perth’s Metal Powerhouse Silent Knight have just dropped their Speed-Metal fuelled rendition of ‘Dreams‘ originally performed by Van Halen! Opening with the widely known mellifluous riff saturated in the band’s signature European-infused flavour, this track kicks into full force with double-timed drum and bass patterns bolstering the Power-Metal inspired fretwork.

‘Dreams’ treats the listener to savage riffs, fast and fluid solos and an energetic rhythm section throughout each passage propelling the song towards the masterfully executed crescendo. Complementing this heavy-metal concoction, Dan Brittain’s powerhouse vocals impeccably cut through the instrumentation, highlighting his impressive range and dynamic interplay. Silent Knight have once again utilised every weapon in their arsenal to bring you another merciless yet uplifting tune!

Guitarist Stu McGill on the release “We decided to record a cover of Van Halen’s Dreams for a few reasons; we wanted to pay our respects and tribute the late great Eddie Van Halen who gave the world so much with his gift of music, it’s the 35th anniversary of the classic 5150 album and it’s just an all-round kick ass song! We hope you enjoy listening to this as much as we enjoyed making it!”

Following a succession of highly acclaimed releases, the band toured nationally and internationally with heavyweights such as Dragonforce, Korpiklaani, Turilli Lione Rhapsody, Helloween,David Ellefson, Zakk Wylde’s Black Label Society as well as securing slots at festivals such as Hammersonic Festival, Indonesia and Headbangers Open Air Festival, Germany. Taking the Australian scene by a storm Silent Knight are showing no signs of slowing down!
