Mike Elrington releases new single ‘Don’t Give Me A Dime’

Mike Elrington

Don’t Give Me A Dime‘ is the 2nd single from Mike Elrington‘s new album ‘Aftershock‘ due out in September this year. The song, like the lead single ‘She’s On My Mind‘ is another curveball from Elrington – who is most often described as a Blues artist.

‘Don’t Give Me A Dime’ _punches hard and fast. It’s angry and it’s visceral. And it’s best played LOUD. Featuring guest rappers Where Is Leroy and Maelstrom, ‘Don’t Give Me A Dime’ has a hip-hop flavoured bounce – and a bluesy chanting chorus that is, as they say in the classics – catchy as f*ck.

And the theme of the song? Being lousy with money. Yep, most of us have been there at some point or another. So is  ‘Don’t Give Me A Dime’  a Public Service Announcement? When asked, Elrington laughs, and says “_No, but sometimes I’ve felt like a high-roller in the making, so if it makes someone else think twice about wasting their money, or getting into too much debt – then maybe.” _

PSA or not,  ‘Don’t Give Me A Dime’_ is a ripping track – and Elrington is keen to see how it’s received after the success of ‘Aftershock’s first single  ‘She’s On My Mind’  which received airplay on Double and
Triple J, and CBAA programs Bluesbeat, Aussie Music Weekly, Dirt Music, Tecka’s Rock & Blues and many other great programs.

‘Aftershock’ will be released September 18 via Only Blues Music and on all digital platforms.
