Riding high on the success of their latest album “When Legends Rise”, Godsmack have been hitting the road hard this past year or so with the now veteran act hitting NOrth America for yet another run of shows. This time joining them are Danish rockers Volbeat and rising stars Stitched Up Heart.

Newcomers, Stitched Up Heart opened the show. I knew there was some buzz around this band so I really wanted to get there early enough to take in their set. I was pleasantly surprised with their showmanship. They were a lot of fun to watch and really knew how to entertain the crowd. They had some catchy songs and I think that they will do very well in the future. “Catch Me When I Fall” was one of the highlights for me in their set.

Volbeat was next up and really made themselves a hard act to follow. I’ve always like this band because they have such an incredible melody in their songs. They played a lot of their well-known songs including “Seal The Deal’, “Let It Burn”, “The Devils Bleeding Tongue” and the cover of Dusty Springfield’s “ I Only Want To Be With You”. Just like the headliners, this is a band that you need to see.

Godsmack really brought it on the night. They are an incredible band live and the crowd went crazy. They worked their way through songs off of their new record all the way back to their first release. Some of the highlights of the show were “1000 hp”, “Cryin’ Like A Bitch”, “I Stand Alone” and The Beatles cover “Come Together”.

I love attending rock shows like this. The crowd has such excitement and enjoys the bands so much. There is this palpable energy you feel throughout the hall from beginning to end. Plus add that the three great acts together on one bill, there’s no way you can’t have a great night of rock ‘n roll. Seeing shows like this restores my faith in music that we haven’t just become an American Idol audience, if you are a true rock fan and love to have your music with lots of melody, you owe it to yourself to get out and see this tour.
