SIX FEET UNDER
Reveals Details For New Album, Torment – Launch Lyric Video for Sacrificial Kill

Six Feet Under

On February 24th, Six Feet Under returns with their 12th studio album, Torment, and a new leap in intensity.
There’s plenty of classic Six Feet Under groove to be had on Torment, but fans will note a much more aggressive approach, and even more blast beats throughout.
This is a cantankerous Six Feet Under with absolutely nothing to prove. This is Six Feet Under at their most deadly.

Torment was brought to life by Chris Barnes with bassist/guitarist Jeff Hughell (Brain Drill) shouldering the load of writing the music, along with heralded drummer Marco Pitruzzella (Brain Drill, Anomalous, Sleep Terror). The combination of Barnes’ multi-decade death metal experience and the speed and precision of Hughell and Pitruzzella’s relative youth go a long way to cementing this as a solid foundation for high level death metal. Chris Barnes elaborates: “I’ve been lucky to have a lot of standout albums in my career. That’s only because I’ve had a great many talented writing partners and musicians to collaborate with. Our new album, Torment’, to me, is one of those albums. Jeff Hughell has provided the flammable material for me to write some explosive lyrics and vocal parts to. I know people always say, ‘this is my best album ever’, and I won’t say that, because everyone has their own favorites, but I do enjoy creating new music, and I feel as though with this one we expressed concisely and to the fullest the duality of our music.

ONI
Premiere Video For The Only Cure (featuring Lamb of God’s Randy Blythe)

Oni

2016 was a breakout year for progressive metal band Oni, who proved their lasting prowess with the release of their debut album Ironshore, toured with heavy metal greats such as Max & Iggor Cavalera and Children of Bodom, and tore up the stage at Ozzfest Meets Knotfest with Randy Blythe of Lamb Of God.

After capping the year with Top 10 “Album of the Year” nods from the likes of Metal Injection, Metal Insider and others, Oni is returning with a new music video for one of their most ferocious, groovy tracks, “The Only Cure” – featuring guest vocals from none other than Randy Blythe himself. The music video, directed and edited by Abraham Roofeh, doubles as a petrifying, serial killer-themed horror film – rapidly cutting to scenes of Oni and Blythe setting the soundtrack.

Jake Oni says: “[‘The Only Cure’] is one of the stronger songs on the album. It’s a good representation of our current sound and where we will be going.”

Guest vocalist Randy Blythe of Lamb Of God adds: “What a super creepy video! Horror fans will love it – the production is Hollywood film-quality. It looks like something out of a ‘SAW’ or ‘Hostel’ movie. I had a lot of fun with the Oni guys recording this track, and it’s cool to see the music set to such dramatic scenery. Nightmares…”

With their influences rooted in progressive metal, Oni‘s sound can be compared to the genre’s heavy hitters – The Human Abstract, Protest The Hero and Between The Buried And Me – yet they remain truly unique. With Jake Oni handling vocal duties, Martin Andres and Brandon White on guitar, Chase Bryant on bass and Joe Greulich on drums, they are also perhaps the first metal band to feature a xylosynth player, Johnny D, which adds an intriguing dynamic to the nine tracks found on Ironshore. Produced by Josh Wilbur (Lamb Of God, Gojira), the album takes listeners on an absorbing ride that provides ample opportunity for head-banging, singing along and deep introspection.

TOMBS
Enter The Studio To Begin Recording Fourth Full-Length Album
Tombs

Brooklyn-based experimental metal outfit Tombs has entered Mana Recording Studio in St. Petersburg, FL to begin recording their fourth full-length.
Produced once again by Erik Rutan (Hate Eternal), this currently untitled album is set for a mid year release via Metal Blade Records/Rocket.

Guitarist/vocalist Mike Hill comments: I’ve been gearing up for this moment for all of past year. Rutan is a master and I’m intending on us delivering the most punishing Tombs record to-date.”

Blending bleak, post-punk minimalism with the ferocious attack of sludge and traditional black metal, Tombs has established themselves as an act that’s as committed to consistency as it is to growth, developing smoothly (but never predictably) over the course of their career, and earning a multitude of accolades along the way (including “album of the year” from Decibel Magazine for 2011’s Path Of Totality!). In addition to their acclaimed releases, Tombs has also become revered for their captivating live shows, touring extensively with an array of artists such as Eyehategod, Pelican, Isis, Wolves In The Throne Room, The Secret, UlceratePallbearer, and 1349, plus appearing at renowned festivals: Roskilde Festival in Denmark, Roadburn in The Netherlands, and Psycho California and Maryland Deathfest in the USA. Now, with their upcoming fourth full-length, the quintet is poised to continue the momentum that’s been building since their formation in 2007. Stay tuned for more news coming soon!

Tombs line-up:

Mike Hill – Guitar/Vocals
Charlie Schmid – Drums
Ben Brand – Bass
Evan Void – Guitar
Fade Kainer – Synth / Vocals
