Colombian Superstar Juanes, guitar virtuoso Newton Faulkner, and Gomez announce Australian shows

Newton Faulkner

Colombian superstar and Latin America’s number one artist Juanes is heading to Sydney and Melbourne in 2018. He is a true phenomenon having sold 15 million albums, won 23 Latin Grammys (the most of any artist in history – Shakira has won 12, Ricky Martin 4) and he has accomplished this at just 45 years of age! Some more career highlights: in 2016 he was invited on stage by The Rolling Stones to play Beast of Burdon in Bogota and has also recorded duets with Tony Bennett and Nelly Furtado. If you haven’t heard him before, think Jack Johnson with a silky Spanish twist.

Whereas many of his Spanish-language contemporaries undertook English-language crossover campaigns at one point or another in their careers, Juanes has won global appeal in his native language exclusively and became perhaps the biggest and most important popular Latin music artist in the early 21st century. His sideshows will give his many Australian fans the chance to dance the night away to his brilliant hits.

JuanesBluesfest Touring is proud to welcome guitar virtuoso Newton Faulkner back to Australia for the first time since 2013. Newton first came onto music lover’s radars in 2007 with his acclaimed debut album ‘Handbuilt By Robots’, which secured platinum status in Australia the UK. He has since released four celebrated studio albums ‘Rebuilt By Humans’ (2009), ‘Write It On Your Skin’ (2012), ‘Studio Zoo’ (2013) and 2015’s big, beat-conscious and astonishingly diverse ‘Human Love’.

Newton is renowned for his incredible live performances, whether in a club, cave, theatre, festival or hot-air balloons (he did that, over the Swiss Alps, for a radio program). His shows are engaging, uplifting and display his extraordinary talent. He plays Sydney, Newcastle, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth in April 2018.

Fans have shown such incredible interest in celebrating the 20th anniversary of Gomez’s Bring It On that the first Melbourne date has sold out! A second show is now on sale and fans are encouraged to jump in quick to avoid missing out. This goes for fans in Sydney and Perth as well – these shows aren’t far off selling out.

Adelaide, you’re in luck! Gomez will be in your fair city to play the Beer and BBQ festival at Old Adelaide Gaol on 27 March 2018.
