’68 touring Australia this July in support of new album ‘Two Parts Viper’

American rock duo ’68 (featuring Josh Scogin ex-The Chariot/Norma Jean) are set to release their forthcoming album Two Parts Viper on Friday 2 June via Cooking Vinyl. The 10-track record channels everything from the intensity of At The Drive-In to Jack White-like vocals to a setup similar to The Black Keys. It’s a compilation of what may be the pair’s strongest work to date – demonstrating more energy with a guitar and small drum set than some can with an entire live band.

Pre-order Two Parts Viper HERE and receive This Life Is Old, New, Borrowed And Blue and The Workers Are Few as instant tracks.

Vocalist Josh Scogin explains both songs. On This Life Is Old, New, Borrowed and Blue he says, “This is the very first song I wrote for the album. It definitely ‘connects’ more with my past than any of the other songs, so much so, that it almost didn’t make it into the album. It is one of my favorite jams but I had decided that if the other 9 songs didn’t balance it out a bit was going to leave it behind. I’m really glad I didn’t have to.“

While he adds This was one of the last songs I wrote for the album. Although the lyrics are very negative, this song makes me smile because it is unlike anything I have ever written before. That’s always a good feeling.  It is very therapeutic.” On The Workers Are Few.

Having toured with the likes of Bring Me The Horizon, Every Time I Die, and The Fall Of Troy to name a few and hitting festivals such as Louder Than Life, Carolina Rebellion, AfterShock, and Welcome To Rockville – the alt-rock veterans felt it was time to take a different approach to further define their brand.

The two-piece will return to Australia in July for a string of intimate shows kicking off in Adelaide and making their way through Melbourne, Canberra, Sydney, Newcastle, and Brisbane.

Tickets go on sale Friday 5 May @ 9am.
