The countdown to MIDGE URE’s Australian return is officially on, with the acclaimed musician and songwriter set to kick things off on the West Coast this October.
Bringing an extensive catalogue of hits from across one of music’s very accomplished careers to Australian fans, MIDGE URE’s upcoming shows are selling fast. The first show of the Australian run, at Perth’s Astor Theatre, has completely sold out, and as final tickets for his East Coast run continue to fly, fans are urged to snap theirs up quickly.
Touring Australia for the first time since 2020, MIDGE URE’s return is an overdue one for longtime fans; as part of these shows, he will be performing cuts from his lauded solo career as well as hits from his time in groups including ULTRAVOX, THE RICH KIDS, THIN LIZZY and VISAGE.

Over the years he has contributed to countless number 1 hit singles and records in the UK and beyond; including Silk’s ‘Forever & Ever’; seven consecutive top 10 UK albums over 6 years for Ultravox; Visage’s ‘Fade To Grey’ which hit number 8 in the UK and number 1 in Germany; his own solo number 1 hit ‘If I Was’ and UK Number 2 album ‘The Gift’ in 1984; and of course the legendary 1984 Band Aid single “Do They Know It’s Christmas?” which has sold over 12 million copies since its release in 1984.
Also announced today is the news that noted musician COLE STACEY will be joining MIDGE URE at all shows on the Australian tour. Stacey himself is an acclaimed artist, whose work has taken him around the world, blending genres from folk through to synth-pop and more.
His latest record, a spectacular live recording in Live At St Nicholas Priory, was released in March – a perfect entry point to a talented artist and body of work.
