Acclaimed Australian rock artist Dallas Frasca will perform two intimate Melbourne send-off shows this June before travelling to Vancouver to record her fifth studio album with renowned Canadian drummer Pat Steward (Bryan Adams) , producer Janey Aurora and engineer/musician Erik Nielsen (City and Colour + Tegan & Sara).

Frasca will perform at Last Chance Rock & Roll Bar on Friday 26 June and The Espy Basement on Saturday 27 June, offering fans a rare opportunity to experience her up close before she heads to British Columbia to begin work on the new record.

Recording sessions will take place at Smooth Operator Studios in Vancouver and Capsule Studios on Bowen Island , bringing together an international team of acclaimed musicians and collaborators as Frasca embarks on what is shaping up to be the most ambitious recording project of her career.

The project follows a remarkable run for Frasca, including two APRA Music Award nominations, a finalist placing for Most Outstanding Songwriter at the Australian Women in Music Awards , national arena dates supporting ZZ Top and George Thorogood , and the independent success of her album Force of Nature, which debuted at #2 on the ARIA Blues and Roots Chart .

“Canada has long been home to some of my favourite artists and records,” says Frasca. “To have the opportunity to immerse myself in that creative environment and collaborate with musicians of this calibre is incredibly exciting. I feel like this project is pushing me into new territory as a songwriter, performer and producer, and I can’t wait for people to hear what we’re creating.”

The recording project has received support from Creative BC , helping facilitate the international collaboration and recording sessions.

For more than two decades, Frasca has built a reputation as one of Australia’s most respected independent rock artists, touring extensively throughout Australia, Europe, Canada, the United States and the United Kingdom while earning a loyal following for her powerhouse vocals, commanding live performances and fiercely independent approach.

The Melbourne performances will serve as both a farewell celebration and a first glimpse of new material before Frasca heads to Canada to begin recording.
