“The Vee Bees turned 25 last year. With 6 albums, and a bunch of singles 9,125 days later they still deliver the best 100% high octane full blown punk rock in the country. To celebrate their Silver Jubilee we have a limited 7″ single ready for ya. Featuring 2 brand new Vee Bees classics all wrapped in some killer Pat Grant artwork. Theres only 150 of these suckers so grab one now. All copies are pressed on silver vinyl (of course), include a double sided lyric insert and come with the following goodies: Silver Jubilee Vee Bees beer coaster, Vee Bees Silver Jubilee badge, Silver Jubilee sticker and a cool Vee Bees patch.”
Well that’s the press release out of the way! In all honesty it’s great to see them back. Way back in 2006 when I was back in Sydney someone slipped me a copy of “Crack us Another” and here we are 20 years later and I have to say I’m so gloriously glad that things haven’t changed!
If you love your VB and a spot of unhinged garage punk pub rock mayhem with lyrics designed to (they say this not me) “...hold up a mirror to modern day society and reflect on philosophical and contemplative issues, such as the frustrations of being denied basic human rights and improving all aspects of your life through the power of positive thinking…yeah, nah not really. They’re about queuing for a dump & rock n roll!!”
What more could you want? A few beers, loud music and a heap of fun! “Third In Line For The Throne” itself is huge fun, a song about queueing for the dunny and the very essence of The Vee Bees. Whilst “Yeah Orright” is just what made you go out slam down a carton then get all out of control upfront at one of their shows in the first place. Age has not wearied these reprobates! welcome back and happy 25th!
The record was recorded, mixed, & mastered by Jason Fuller at Goatsound, Melbourne, Australia in August 2025. Additional tracks recorded by Damian Blankley. Artwork by Pat Grant. Photo by Katelyn Slyer.
