Fifty years on from the release of one of Australian rock’s most iconic anthems, The Angels continue to prove why their legacy remains as powerful as ever. From the unforgettable chant of “No way, get fucked, fuck off!” echoing through pubs and arenas across the country, to a catalogue that helped shape the sound of Australian hard rock, the band’s influence stretches across generations.

In this special conversation, we catch up with founding guitarist John Brewster as the band celebrates the 50th anniversary of their debut single “Am I Ever Gonna See Your Face Again.” John reflects on the song’s incredible journey, the passion and drive that still fuels him after five decades, and what continues to make performing live so rewarding. We also dive into the future of The Angels and the exciting evolution of the band with younger blood carrying the torch, including John’s son Sam Brewster and dynamic frontman Nick Norton. With one foot firmly planted in rock history and the other charging confidently into the future, The Angels remain a band built on passion, energy and an unwavering love of live music.
