The wait is over: BANG, the brand-new album from Northern Ireland’s metal legends Sweet Savage, is out now on CD Digipak, black LP, limited transparent red LP, and all digital platforms.
Formed in Belfast in 1979 by bassist and vocalist Ray Haller and future Dio/Def Leppard guitarist Vivian Campbell, Sweet Savage were part of the first wave of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal. Over the years, Sweet Savage’s cult status was cemented when Metallica famously covered their song “Killing Time” on the B-side of “The Unforgiven.”
With BANG, the band returns with full force – combining their aggressive, fast-paced metal roots with industrial textures and punk influences. The result is an album that captures the intensity of their early years while pushing their sound into a heavier, uncompromising new era.
Frontman Ray Haller (vocals/bass), Marty McCloskey (drums) and Phil Edgar (guitar) are joined by none other than Simon McBride, now guitarist for Deep Purple, who contributed guitar parts and production to the album.
