Formed in 2019 when the members were in secondary school, Rare Breed is a band from the north east of England. Combining an aggressive, fast paced style with emotional vocals and catchy melodies, the band plays a unique mix of emo, hardcore punk, grunge and metal along with influences across many other genres. The band is noted for their incredibly high energy shows and performances, releasing their first singles in 2023, along with their debut EP ‘Not Quite the High Life’ in 2025.
Previous singles ‘Psycho’ and ‘Hellbound’ surpassed all expectations and opened the door to industry interest due to their raised profile across the airwaves and on stage where they stamp their authority!

“Drowning, similarly to our previous releases this year, follows the theme of mental health struggles. It is about somebody who feels that their anxiety and insecurities are consuming them to the point where they are fighting to keep their head above water. When writing this one we included quotes from some of our fans, within both the lyrics and the cover art, who told us how their insecurities make them feel. We wanted to create a track that they could all relate to on a personal level and really help them connect to the music in the same way that we do personally. ” – Rare Breed
