MAC DeMARCO Announces New Album, ‘Guitar’ Alongside New Single ‘Home’

Mac DeMarco announces his new album, Guitar, will be released August 22nd via Mac’s Record Label and unveils the lead single/video, ‘Home‘. He also announces 2026 touring, including a February/early March run in Asia, including Japan and Hong Kong, and an extensive May tour of the Southeastern, Southwestern and Midwest parts of the United States. Supporting Mac on tour are exclusively artists on Mac’s Record Label: Mock Media, Tex Crick, Daryl Johns and Vicky Farewell. All new shows are on sale this Friday, June 27th @ 12pm EST / 28th Saturday @ 2am AEST.

Guitar was written and recorded in its entirety in November 2024 at Mac’s home in Los Angeles. Except for the mastering, which was handled by David Ives, Mac created and handled all aspects of this record on his own, including mixing the album in Canada, and shooting the music videos and album artwork on tripods. Mac comments, “I think Guitar is as close to a true representation of where I’m at in my life today as I can manage to put to paper. I’m happy to share this music, and look forward to playing these songs as many places as I’m able.”

Mac describes today’s single, ‘Home’ as “a song I wrote at my home in Los Angeles about what home means to me.” He sings: “These days I’d much rather be on my own // No more walking those streets //That I once called my home // Because down every lane there are // Faces and names // That have memories attached // That I’d sooner let go // Sooner than I’d go home again.” Mac shot the song’s accompanying video while canoeing near his mom’s new home in Canada.

Guitar follows 2023’s instrumental album, Five Easy Hot Dogs, recorded in various locations from Los Angeles to New York City, and the 199-track One Wayne G.

As previously announced, Mac’s entirely sold out 2025 tour of North America, Europe and the UK begins late August with three sold out shows at The Greek Theatre. Additional stops include multiple nights at Radio City Music Hall in New York City and the Greek Theatre in Berkeley, plus Franklin Music Hall in Philadelphia, The Lyric in Baltimore, Paramount Theatre in Seattle, and beyond.
