Written from the eye of the storm, “Cost of Living” is Halloran’s most personal release to date. The youngest of nine siblings, she draws a vivid contrast between her unconventional path and the more traditional lives of her family — not with regret, but with reverence. “It’s a magical mystery ride — you are constantly transported to another time and planet. One night you’re unstoppable, like the world’s in the palm of your hand… then the next day…. how easily you can plummet back to the real world, wondering if it ever even happened.
