INTERVIEW: PUNK ROCK FACTORY Invades Australia this November!

GET READY FOR THE PUNK ROCK PARTY OF 2025! PUNK ROCK FACTORY is on the way back Downunder.

PUNK ROCK FACTORY bring everything you love about 1990s/2000s punk rock and deliver the classics and hit songs we all know the words to; like you’ve never heard them before. The band has redefined pop-culture and built a massive viral fan base worldwide. From Michael Jackson and ABBA to the theme from Bluey and Disney classics, nothing is off limits.

Having played iconic festivals such as Bloodstock, Download and Slam Dunk to rapturous applause, they are selling out venues worldwide and the party is headed back to Australia this November. We caught up with Peej to find out why this Tour is essential!

The Rockpit: Welcome back to Australia! How does it feel bringing Punk Rock Factory back down under?

Peej: We’re buzzing!! We get to travel the world, see places we’ve never seen, meet people we would have never met and all whilst playing kick ass shows!! We’re so excited!

The Rockpit: What can Aussie fans expect from this tour — any surprises or special moments planned from the last tour?

Peej: How about a mid-set, rap battle between 2 people from the crowd? LEARN THE WORDS TO THE MAUI RAP!!! Oh, and drinking vodka from our shoes on stage?

The Rockpit: You’ve built a huge following online — how different is it translating that energy to a live Aussie crowd?

Peej: People always tell us that we look like we’re having the best time on stage, no matter where in the world we are playing, and we really are!! We absolutely LOVE IT!! Who cares about jet lag? We’re gonna be playing shows on the other side of the world haha!

The Rockpit: How do you go about building a setlist when you have such a massive catalogue of covers?

Peej: With great difficulty haha! We have the staples in the set, but there are so many songs we want to play!!! We’re very democratic. If the majority want a song in the set, it happens… most of the time haha! It also depends how difficult it is to play haha!

The Rockpit: Is there a particular song that always gets the biggest reaction live?

Peej: We always notice the phones come out as soon as we start playing Under The Sea haha! Always seems to be a favourite!

The Rockpit: You’ve punked up everything from Disney to metal — what’s been the most unexpectedly fun song to rework?

Peej: Nothing surprises us now… Will Smiths ‘Boom Shake The Room’ was a particular favourite tho!

The Rockpit: Do you ever worry about keeping the right balance between humour and musicianship in your performances?

Peej: Never! Our shows wouldn’t be if they weren’t equally as stupid as they are musical haha! Our fans seem to love it!

The Rockpit: How does the creative process work between you guys when arranging a cover — who brings the first spark?

Peej: The hardest part is picking the songs! Then we arrange the track, get some midi drums down and go from there! It’s surprisingly fun and easy (when the the chosen track works haha!)

The Rockpit: You’re both seasoned players — how do you keep the performances fresh night after night?

Peej: adrenaline, passion and vodka!

The Rockpit: What’s the biggest challenge of taking Punk Rock Factory on the road internationally?

Peej: Flying our gear around!! It’s tough both logistically and financially!!

The Rockpit: Touring Australia often means a lot of travel time — how do you fill the long hours between shows?

Peej: adrenaline, passion and vodka!… Again! haha!

The Rockpit: How does the Aussie crowd compare to others you’ve played for around the world?

Peej: Absolutely bonkers! And we absolutely love it… Last time we were down under, they were some of the most fun shows we’ve ever done!!

The Rockpit: Are there any Aussie bands you’d love to collaborate with or maybe cover in PRF style?

Peej: How about Kylie? … We could do the locomotion and make that train go fast as f**k!

The Rockpit: Do you ever get fans suggesting what songs you should do next — and do you ever take those on board?

Peej: Yes and yes!! Comments on our socials are always full of suggestions and we always try to make them happen!

The Rockpit: You’ve brought a lot of families and new fans into punk — how important is that inclusive energy to you?

Peej: It’s not something we set out to do, but we love that it’s happened. It blows us away when people tell us how we’ve helped them form new bonds with their children!!

The Rockpit: Has there ever been a song that completely didn’t work when you tried to punk it up?

Peej: Wayyyyyyyyy too many to list haha! We have so many unfinished tracks!!

The Rockpit: Looking ahead — any hints on what’s next after this tour? More originals, or more punked-up pop culture classics?

Peej: We have so much going on between now and the new year! Album release, our first ever original track being released, Australia, Japan, Wembley with Bowling For Soup & Wheatus… Then we go again in February. Back on the road around the UK and more!!

The Rockpit: If you could have been a fly on the wall for the creation of one great punk album, what would it be and why?

Peej: Not so much “punk” but Nevermind by Nirvana. That album changed my entire outlook on music. If it wasn’t for that album, i might be listening to basic stuff in the charts!

The Rockpit: And finally — what is the meaning of life?

Peej: Do what you love. Be who you want to be. If it puts you out of your comfort zone, DO IT! We did and now we travel the world, doing what we love!!
