From their humble mid-‘90s alt-country origins, WILCO have manifestly become better with age. Founding member and ringleader Jeff Tweedy and Uncle Tupelo bandmate John Stirratt are joined by Nels Cline, Pat Sansone, Glenn Kotche and Mikael Jorgensen, who together as WILCO have gone from strength to strength paving their own unique path to sonic greatness.

BT from Love Police encouraged all fans to experience WILCO this March. “Every time I see Wilco play I think… ‘is that the greatest live band on the planet?’ They are The Beatles and The Band and so much more. Musical magic and mayhem and sweet, sweet tones all night long. Wow Wow Wow Wilco are coming.”

A musical chameleon, WILCO have been inspired by the greats from music to 20th century literature and their songs have touches of alt-country, folk, rock and eclectic indie-sounds making their music deeply pleasurable and widely loved.

The band won a Grammy Award in 2005 for Best Alternative Music Album – A Ghost Is Born – and have been nominated seven times over the years across various genres including Best Folk, Best Rock, Best Americana. They’re just the best.

Joining WILCO on their Australian crusade is Australian folk diviner LEAH SENIOR, supporting all shows except Sydney Opera House.

Love Police presents WILCO. Tickets on sale September 21 at lovepolice.com.au.

Proudly presented by Double J.
