LIVE REVIEW: HED p.e. – The Amplifier Bar Perth, 5th February 2023

It may well be only February but there is already a contender for Tour of the year. This year’s hottest tour kicked off in Perth and it was off the charts!

The nights proceedings started with local Rap performer Bluntfield, who really put in the hard yards, showed his passion, and maximized his minutes in front of the eclectic group of HED p.e fans in the house. I loved the Ric Flair and Wrestling references. He was a great opener for a gig like this.
Out of the gate HED p.e know how to make an impression. How can anybody doubt the charisma and ability of one Jahred Gomez and his ability to control a crowd and send them into a frenzy?
They started off with the chill yet ripping R.T.R, followed by my 2nd favorite track, Killing Time. They blend so many styles of music, that it pleases many senses! I overheard a bartender remark that they couldn’t figure out the bands genre but what they were hearing, they were loving.
The crowd were really hot for this show. Really hot. It was intense from start to finish. HED p.e have been in the game now since the 90s and they do not seem to ever phone it in. They played a super cool version of ‘Get Up Stand Up’ by Bob Marley, continuing that clear blend of Hard Rock and Reggae.
‘Raise Hell’ blew the roof off, as well as their classic ‘Bartender’ and a ripping version of ‘I Wanna Be Sedated’ by the Ramones.
They ended the proceedings in a wild way as fans crowd surfed and showed their love and support. It was a packed house at the Amplifier Bar and I would definitely go to see HED p.e again when they come back!
Jahred and the boys didn’t disappoint and they even hung out afterward despite their tight schedule to get photos with fans and spend some time talking. They’re down to earth, they’re fun, they’re exactly what Rock N’ Roll is all about!
If you get a chance to jump on the rest of the Tour do it now! It’s a night you’ll never forget!
