INTERVIEW: Country Rock artist KC Johns talks debut album, song writing & whiskey

It was way back in March 2021 when we first stumbled upon Country Rock singer/songwriter KC Johns, when she released a cover of Led Zeppelin’s ‘Black Dog’. Not only was it a fantastic version of an iconic track, but KC had carved a special something into the song, making it very much her own with her stunning vocals, which ensured that The Rockpit wanted to track her down to talk more about her beginnings in music and where she planned to be in years to come.

Roll forward to 2023 and KC Johns has been a very busy woman. A full length album entitled ‘Thunder’, various stand alone singles and now a launch of a Bourbon Whiskey brand named after her album means that KC is very much living in the now and continues to push on with her career.

Regular trips to Scandinavia to perform to her growing fanbase means she is well on the way to world domination. So, we felt it was time for a catch up to find out just how this meteoric rise has been achieved during some challenging times for many artists and what KC Johns has planned next.
