Hailing from Manchester, England, blues-rock prodigy Ashley Sherlock takes the spotlight with his debut album “Just A Name”. A harmonious blend of blues, classic rock, pop, and soul, Sherlock explores topics from lost love to self-growth.

The track “Trouble” introduces the album, featuring a dynamic blend of thunderous drums and a robust bass line complementing Sherlock’s edgy yet alluring falsetto vocals. This song also delivers an introduction into his impressive talent on the guitar.

“I Think That She Knows” showcases his prowess as a musical architect. The track kicks off with a pristine guitar tone accompanying Sherlock’s emotionally charged vocals and is topped off with a captivating guitar solo. This is my favourite track from the album.

“Empty Street” has a country-rock power ballad vibe to it and a captivating chorus with a strong melody. The vibe continues on into “Time” which has a groovy bass line and subtle bluesy guitar riffs driven by his emotive vocals. “Time” is another top favourite of mine.

“Dear Elizabeth” a track written a message to a lost friend, Sherlock once again delivers his heartfelt, almost haunting vocals with carefully crafted bass lines and guitar riffs that climax into an emotion filled guitar solo. Definitely one of his best tracks on the album.

This album has a beautifully warm but also dark and haunting vibe to it. It’ll take you on a musical roller coaster and leave you wanting more. Sherlock has an incredible voice and is equally skilled a guitarist. This album is a must listen and I can’t wait to hear what he creates next.
