Avatar brought their Going Hunting tour to the House Of Blues in Chicago, IL and along with it, brought a house fulled with die hard fans. Sadly however Magic Stick had to drop off the show leaving fans a shorter but insanely memorable show featuring Avatar and Tallah.

Kicking off the night were Tallah bringing their blend of numetal infused metalcore. Bringing an extremely high energy performance the band made quite the impression on the crowd. Vocalist Justin Bonitz was all energy pacing and running back and forth along the stage and at one point even attempting to do what looked like quite the painful front flip. With the nonstop energy from every band member being given here they’d make it tough for many bands to follow.

Thankfully though Avatar came out and gave it their all in a theatrical and energy performance. Drummer John Alfredsson used a secondary drum set and played while standing in formation with the rest of the band for the first two songs. From there it was a whirlwind of energy mixed with melodies galore amid a fantastic performance. The band themselves performed to perfection and all were smiles galore clearly happy to be back performing in front of a crowd of fans. Vocalist Johannes Eckerström proved he is one of metals truest talents with an incredible range for not only screams but also singing.

The crowd was loving it as well with fans going full out in tons of Avatar items. I saw face paint, full outfits, custom vests, and signs from the ride or die fans in attendance. Even with a shorter show this one was for the ages and in a time where things are tough this was the break these fans needed from all those outside world issues.
