King Parrot & Private Function join Mojo Burning in Brisbane

Mojo Burning 2020

Annual boutique guitar-driven festival MOJO BURNING has today added two juicy curveball headline bands to an already stacked March 28 bill in the form of Thrash lords KING PARROT and Melbourne Garage Punks PRIVATE FUNCTION.

With the Australian tour cancellation of Temples (UK) due to Coronavirus, the festival was left in a chaotic final month situation, something festival curator Christian Tryhorn was not expecting, “I couldn’t believe it when Temples cancelled their Australian dates a month out from the festival, but the worldwide implications of Coronavirus and touring acts has been massive.  Even Kadavar’s flights were cancelled by the airline leading to a crazy few days.  We could have rolled with a more ‘Mojo’ sounding band but thought man why not, let’s mix it up.  King Parrot and Private Function are probably both in the top 10 most entertaining acts in Australia right now.  We can’t wait to see what they bring to the table come March 28 in Brisbane, it’s probably worked out better haha!”

The much loved event drops a host of epic internationals and touring acts on Brisbane Saturday March 28 including the kings of retro rock KADAVAR (GER), KING PARROT, poet and troubadour STEVE SMYTH (now residing in Spain), shambolic punks PRIVATE FUNCTION, European fuzz band DEVILLE (SWE) and many more with 31 bands split over three stages in what is an amazing offering for just $65 presale.

Now in it’s 7th year, Mojo Burning, in what started as a small scale feature of the underground touring circuit, has grown to a 1200 cap national platform for underground Blues, Rock, Stoner and Psych bands featuring some of the biggest international genre acts and nation-wide talent in what is a necessary and much loved day for the Australian music scene.
