Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds announces new EP with release of title track

Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds

Following the recent announcement that Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds will be joining U2 on their stadium tour of Australia in November, the band have today announced the imminent release of ‘This Is The Place’, a brand new EP of music due on September 27th via Sour Mash / Caroline Australia. The title track from the EP is available now. The five track EP – which will be available digitally and on coloured vinyl – features three brand new songs as well as two remixes.

Although completely disparate sonically, the three new tracks each feature soaring female backing vocals and all have a nod to different iterations of psych.

This is the second EP of new music from Noel in 2019, following the release of ‘Black Star Dancing’ in June of this year.  In a 4-star review of the EP, NME said,  ‘Black Star Dancing’ sparkles with shimmering synths and a scorching solo in tribute to David Bowie’s ‘Fashion’ over a four-to-the-floor beat. … Rattling Rose’ lures you in with some traditional acoustic guitar and a driving Americana rhythm, before blooming into a sci-fi carnival breakdown … That marriage of soulful indie and a sweet groove harks back to Doves’ early work. After the sound of rainfall subsides, ‘Sail On’ swoons with that immediately relatable simplicity of Noel’s most powerful acoustic moments…”

Tickets are currently on sale for U2’s Joshua Tree Tour in Australia this November with Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds – dates and ticketing information HERE.
