We Are The Catalyst

Predators’ is the latest music video from Swedish rock/metal outfit We Are The Catalyst. The prequel to their much-anticipated Ephemeral album due out in early 2019, this song gives an early taste of what the record will be about. The Ferocity Records signees have a rabid fanbase, eager for this new video and excited to pick it apart. Known for their thoughtful music videos, a new one from these Studio Meltdown veterans is always cause for excitement. Watch the music video below.

We Are The Catalyst have been mainstays of the Swedish rock scene for years now. Having gone as far afield as China and worked with Jerry Springer on their video for ‘Don’t Your Worry Child’ the band has rapidly generated a buzz around their name. The name “We Are The Catalyst” is meant as encouragement to overcome and challenge the darker parts of ourselves and others, to invite the listeners to keep fighting in a rough and dark world, and try to encourage them to be their best self, even when it might seem hopeless. This latest video is an extension of that.

Of the new video and single the band says, “With this song we wanted to go darker and heavier than we have before, adding an uncomfortable air to our sound. “Predators” is a song about decadence, striving for fame just for fame, climbing to the top over bodies, and also about having blind faith in various forms, be it religion or idolizing actors, musicians etc. From the lyrics – “Your love embrace/Our empty faith/A simple phrase/ And you will praise”, criticizing how easy people follow others that they believe have all the answers without questioning, and how they are almost making gods out of famous people for no reason other than them being famous.”
