Metallica to release live acoustic album ‘Helping Hands: Live & Acoustic’

Metallica

Metallica is set to release an LP titled Helping Hands: Live & Acoustic at the Masonic on Feb. 1 consisting of songs performed at their acoustic benefit concert in San Francisco earlier this month.

The band played versions of iconic tracks like “Unforgiven,” “Nothing Else Matters” and even performed acoustic covers of Blue Oyster Cult’s “Veteran of the Psychic Wars” and Nazareth’s “Please Don’t Judas Me” in an effort to raise money for their nonprofit, All Within My Hands. The San Francisco concert included an auction that successfully raised $1.3 million to help fight hunger and provide underprivileged communities with workforce education.

Metallica’s All Within My Hands Foundation also recently donated $100,000 to those affected by California’s devastating wildfires this season. Founded in 2017, the organization also hosts an annual Day of Service that encourages fans to donate to their local food banks.

Helping Hands: Live & Acoustic will release as a double-LP with two colored vinyls and a download card. The live album will also be available for purchase at independent record stores next year, with all proceeds from sales going directly to the All Within My Hands Foundation.
