UK’s Martyr Defiled to release ‘Young Gods’ album in April

Martyr Defiled

After the phenomenal success of 2014’s ‘No Hope No Morality’, Martyr Defiled, one of the UK’S most respected and jaw crushingly heavy bands returns with their new album ‘Young Gods’. Written and recorded over the past three years by Ryan and Matt in their respective bedrooms, the original intention of being released as two separate mini albums was later changed and the raging twelve track assault of brutality, technical modern metalcore and monolithic hooks that is ‘Young Gods’ is set to be released worldwide on 21/04/17

Young Gods was written sequentially then split up – it’s actually a concept album in which the pieces are jumbled up. It follows the story of a bitter old man accused of being a witch. He is subsequently buried alive and whilst dying he calls to the dark gods to curse his killers. He then reincarnates as a young god in possession of his soul, who then proceeds to cast a shadow over the world to match the darkness in which old man died.  Throughout the album this character is referred to as the Night God or the Blood God and the moth depicted on the front cover represents the character’s arc, to be reborn into darkness after the chrysalis tomb of soil and mud.

Martyr Defiled welcome two special guests contributing on the album.
‘Carpe Noctum’ features Knuckledust front man Pierre Peblu.
“Ryan is a lifelong fan of Knuckledust and getting Pierre on the track was a real bucket list ambition for him. Pierre added a very specific flavour to the tune, something we loved to hear as we wanted guest vocalists to differ in style from Matt.
Konan Hall of Malevolence lends his talents to ‘Kneel’
“Konan is a friend of ours from a long time ago, having played with Malev at some of their early shows. Always loved his voice and we practically wrote his section with him in mind”.

In the wake of ‘No Hope No Morality’ the Lincoln five piece took their incendiary live show for a co-headline European tour with I Declare War, dates across Portugal with Architects. A U.S run with Oceano and after a triumphant Download Festival slot the band were invited on the ‘Download Freezes Over tour alongside heavyweights ‘Upon A Burning Body.
