Oh/Villain are about to take their first steps into a wider world, and are today offering up the info on their debut EP release. They gave the world single ‘Heartless’ a few weeks ago, a tasty morsel that left people wanting more. The quintet will release their EP entitled ‘Pilot’ on Friday June 30th and today are dropping second single and first videoclip for their track ‘Preacher.’

The Sydney-based five-piece have impressively created a sound that entwines post-hardcore riffs and vocals with beautiful melodies and beat-down hooks, throwing a spin on the traditional foundations of everything there is to love about the post-hardcore movement.

Vocalist Julian Latouche says that they are extremely happy with the results of their first outing in the studio. “Preacher’ is a good sonic reproduction of who we are as a band as it was one of the first songs written for this EP and it is a good reflection for what’s to come in ‘Pilot’. The EP tackles a lot of themes about personal growth and understanding but as the EP name suggests we want the audience to gather their own opinions and ideas about what the songs mean to them and interpret them how they please.”

On the video shot by Warwick Hughes of Sink Or Swim Productions, Julian says “The visuals of this video for Preacher have the theme of breaking away and finding your self, the self you are proud of and isn’t shadowed by anything.”

Purchasers will get Preacher when they pre-order the EP when it goes live on iTunes on Friday and they will be joining fellow Sydney-siders Far Away Stables at an all ages show at Red Rattler Friday June 9..

Preacher’s lyrics represents stepping away from social norms and allowing yourself to live in a way that pleases you, and not please any other person’s expectations. It’s an ode to celebrating life the way YOU determine to live it.

The ‘Pilot’ EP was Produced and Engineered by Rohan Kumar at Broken Sounds Studios and Mixed and Mastered by Declan White at Declan White Productions.

Oh/Villain began their careers on an impressive high, having already played some of their biggest shows in the earliest parts of their career. Julian Latouche (vocals), Petar Bezek (guitar), Lars Parto (guitar), Aaron Peacock (bass) and Joshua Moody (drums) have to-date shared the stage with the likes of Slaves (USA), Chiodos (USA), Dance Gavin Dance (USA), Save The Clock Tower (AUS), Polaris (AUS) and Storm The Sky (AUS).

Oh/Villain’s debut EP ‘PILOT’ will be available in iTunes, Spotify and all good online stores and streaming outlets from this Friday May 19th, with punters getting Preacher as the instant grat track.
