Long Island, New York Post-Hardcore legends Glassjaw are announcing that they will be gracing Australian shores in January 2018 in a tour presented by MJR Presents. The influential and revered outfit are renowned for their intense live shows and their bombastic and hard-edged music.

The band, who formed with original members Daryl Palumbo and Justin Beck in 1993, will be in the country for a very short stab of shows – 15th January to 22nd January – in Melbourne at The Forum, Sydney at The Metro, Brisbane at The Tivoli and Perth at Capitol. Tickets go on pre-sale 18th October for Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth and 19th October for Sydney.

The storied band, who have been instrumental in the formation of underground music scenes in Eastern USA and the UK, have released two studio albums including Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Silence (2000) and Worship and Tribute (2002), as well as EPs Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (1997), El Mark (2005), Our Color Green (The Singles) (2011) and Coloring Book (2011).

This tour will be the first time that the band has been in Australia since 2014 for Soundwave and their “sidewave” shows with Dillinger Escape Plan and Dir En Grey. Heavy Mag described their set “Glassjaw are LOUD, yet fantastic. It takes a special kind of band that can manage to be so off kilter, yet maintain some degree of melody.” and FasterLouder praised their Soundwave set – “Long Island’s Glassjaw had no trouble holding their audience’s attention, with their sprawling post-hardcore delivered with volume and vigour. Of course, it helps having such a charismatic frontman as the sky-punching and hip-shaking Daryl Palumbo.
