Camp Cope and Cash Savage announce end of year show at The Forum in Melbourne with special guests RVG

After a late-night talk over a few pints at The Old Bar, CAMP COPE and CASH SAVAGE decided what better way to see out 2017 and ring in the summer than by playing one of Melbourne’s most iconic venues. A few emails later and we’re stoked to announce that Camp Cope and Cash Savage and the Last Drinks will play a one-off co-headline show at The Forum in Melbourne on Sunday December 3 with support from RVG.

Camp Cope have become a force in music since forming a mere 16 months ago. With a single LP and split 7” under their proverbial belts, they’re followed by a trail of sold out shows, including a headline show at the Corner Hotel tonight as part of Weekender Fest, selling out the Sydney Opera House twice over as part of Vivid LIVE this year, not to mention filling out rooms across the US on their first ever international tour in July. They will be previewing new music from their to-be-announced second LP, as the trio get ready to enter the studio to record the follow up to their Australian Music Prize-shortlisted debut.

Cash Savage is signing off on an enormous year touring her well-oiled and fiercely-loved Last Drinks across Europe. The six-piece left their stamp on the continent’s biggest festivals from Czech Republic to France, gobsmacking audiences with their signature sound and prowling performance. The band’s third studio album One Of Us (2016) continues to entrance audiences and critics across the world, exemplifying the immaculate and impassioned country-blues and devastating honesty that make Savage one of the most notorious figures in Australian music. The Guardian says Savage “may be the best rock star we’ve got right now… her presence and songwriting is matched by a wonderfully sympathetic band.” This will be Cash Savage and The Last Drinks’ final hometown show for the year, and, as always, this band promises a party.

Opening proceedings on the night is Melbourne four-piece RVG who channel an aesthetic drawn from post punk and new wave. The band bring a “vivid, natural dynamic” (Who The Hell) featuring the enigmatic Romy Vager on vocals – who has been described as a cross between Patti Smith and Robert Forster – RVG made a splash at BIGSOUND 2017 last week and will be re-releasing their debut album A Quality of Mercy through Our Golden Friend.
