PARKWAY DRIVE Descend on Sydney Opera House in World First Helicopter Stunt

Parkway Drive has made history today performing a dramatic aerial stunt at the Sydney Opera House, with lead singer Winston McCall rappelling from a helicopter onto the famous sails.

The daring stunt took place at dawn, with McCall landing on a 60-centimetre platform, 65 metres high. It follows Parkway Drive’s career-defining, sold-out Opera House show in June, which transformed the Concert Hall with an extravagant display of moss and native Australian flora. The band played alongside a full symphonic orchestra for the one-night-only, black tie event. Both the show and footage from the spectacular helicopter stunt will feature in Parkway Drive’s upcoming concert feature film, ‘HOME’.

Produced by Hype Republic, directed by Allan Hardy (Viva The Underdogs) and Macario De Souza (Bra Boys) and distributed by Mushroom Studios, the film will be released in theatres nationwide in 2026.

“Every Aussie grows up seeing the Sydney Opera House on postcards and TV, but never in a million years did I think I’d be standing on it – let alone dropping onto it from a helicopter. That’s an experience I’ll never forget. There’s nothing quite like it.” Winston McCall, Parkway Drive

“This was one of the most ambitious projects we’ve tackled – from a sold-out Sydney Opera House show to a world-first helicopter stunt. Parkway Drive don’t shy away from challenges, and neither did our team. Proud to have brought it to life with such a focused and fearless crew.”Allan Hardy

Parkway Drive is renowned for their huge theatrical productions and innovative stage entries at festivals worldwide. From elaborate pyrotechnics and dynamic stage designs to entrances from both the ceiling and crowd, Parkway Drive raise the bar once again in ‘HOME’ with this history-making stunt.

‘HOME’ IS COMING TO THEATRES ACROSS AUSTRALIA IN 2026
