PREDECEASED crawled their way out of the punk/hardcore gutter in 2021, and have wasted no time in spawning arms and legs to carry their obnoxious and lairy music to the forefront of the UK scene.

Formed by Charlie Wyatt (guitar), George Coleman (Drums), Jack Hartley (bass), all three members share vocal duties and create a tremendous racket for just three misfit rockers. The band pulls influence from an eclectic selection of music, and guitarist Charlie Wyatt has stated that “We’ve found ourselves in the odd position of sitting outside any pigeon holes that punk and hardcore bands seem to sit in”. This is not seen as a hindrance to the three piece, but more of a badge of honour for paving their own unique path musically. Charlie explains further that “We have riffs but they’re a bit weird, but then so do the bands we’ve looked up to”, referring to the likes of hardcore punk legends Black Flag, post-punk veterans Killing Joke (they’ve even covered their track ‘Blood On Your Hands’), Metz and At The Drive In.

After a string of singles in ‘21-’22, the band committed to releasing their first LP ‘What Do You Do?’ in 2023. This album was a solid debut that delivered raucous, unapologetic, snotty grunge laden rock. It’s the kind of material that was created for the purpose of cramming sweaty bodies into a venue for a sing along (with a side of chaos). PREDECEASED have racked up an impressive gig CV in theirshort existence, playing with established names such as Quicksand, Mclusky, and Fall of Troy, whilst
also playing their own shows to enthusiastic punters.

They’ve had great support not just from the fans, but also from the music industry, receiving steady airtime on Radio 1 from Daniel P Carter and Alyx Holcombe and from Emily Pilbeam at BBC Radio 6.

Keen to carry on the buzz from ‘What Do You Do?’, the band released a multitude of singles in 2024 that include ‘The News’, ‘Sun Reader’, ‘Plague Trains’ and the forementioned cover of Killing Joke’s ‘Blood On Your Hands’. They are proud of this output and feel it’s time to give it a proper release, which brings us to ‘WEIRDO RIFFERS’. A collection of all the band’s singles to date, plus two unreleased tracks.

When asked to explain what a ‘WEIRDO RIFFER’ is, Charlie said “A weirdo riffer is us! Someone who doesn’t fit in too good. Before we started getting stuck in with gigs I was emailing for shows and we were getting ‘feedback’ such as ‘not mosher enough’ or ‘too heavy for us’ or ‘didn’t you use to play garage rock?’ or ‘oooo you’re a bit loud’. I don’t consider ourselves that ‘odd’ of a band but we’ve had a pretty varied gig history already. Sometimes it takes a little longer to really find your lane to speed down, but I’d rather do it this way”.

To kick this weirdo party into gear, PREDECEASED will release the new single ‘HEROES BY DAVID BOWIE’ on July 16th. This will coincide with the announcement of ‘WEIRDO RIFFERS’ and pre-orders available from EEASY Records.
