Bring Me The Horizon today release Count Your Blessings | Repented, the fully re-recorded 20th anniversary edition of their landmark debut album, available now on vinyl, cassette and all streaming platforms.
Originally released in 2006, Count Your Blessings became one of the defining records of modern heavy music, introducing a generation of fans to deathcore and laying the foundations for one of the most influential bands of the last two decades. Twenty years on, the Sheffield band return to where it all began, re-recording the album from the ground up with frontman Oli Sykes and guitarist Lee Malia, alongside acclaimed producer and mixer Buster Odeholm.
Talking about the record Oli said “I think a lot of people think that we hate that record or are embarrassed by it because we don’t play it. Really, we were just always disappointed with how it sounded. It was never about rewriting history. It was about making the record we’d always heard in our heads.”
Far more than a remaster, Count Your Blessings | Repented is a complete reimagining of the record. Every track has been rebuilt to capture the ferocity of the original while benefiting from the band’s two decades of growth as musicians, songwriters and producers.

Alongside newly re-recorded versions of fan favourites including (I Used to Make Out With) Medusa, Pray for Plagues, Black & Blue, Slow Dance, A Lot Like Vegas and Dragon Slaying (formerly Liquor & Love Lost), the album also features Dehumanized, the band’s first brand new song written specifically for the Count Your Blessings era. The track went on to reach number 1 on Billboard’s Hot Hard Rock Songs, with the video trending on Vevo at number 4. Written twenty years after the original album, it serves as both a tribute to the band’s roots and a bridge to everything they’ve become since.
To celebrate the release, Bring Me The Horizon will perform Count Your Blessings in full for the very first time this weekend at Outbreak Presents: Count Your Blessings | Repented in Manchester, before taking the performance to Furnace Fest in Birmingham, Alabama later this year. The shows mark a landmark moment in the band’s history, giving fans the rare opportunity to experience the album performed live from start to finish alongside bonus tracks from that era.
From their MySpace-era beginnings in Sheffield to selling more than 7.2 million albums worldwide, earning multiple UK Number One albums and headlining arenas and festivals across the globe, Bring Me The Horizon have continually redefined the boundaries of heavy music. Count Your Blessings | Repented is both a celebration of where the band began and a reminder of why those early songs continue to inspire generations of artists and fans alike.
