LIVE REVIEW: PARKER BARROW – The Live Rooms, Chester, UK

17th July 2025

It’s on nights like these when you know you have just witnessed something very special indeed. The first performance of Parker Barrow on UK soil and I can say I was there. From the moment they hit the Live Rooms stage you could tell this was a big moment for them and they were going to enjoy every moment of it.

Coming on with the single “Make It” which has had a lot of air play on Planet Rock recently , the band were firing on all cylinders, no nervous start here.  They played the Live Rooms in Chester like their lives depended on it.  The energy on stage was off the scale, I was captivated by them.  Parker Barrow are built around the husband and wife duo Megan Kane (lead vocals) and Dylan Turner (drums).

A chance encounter brought Kane and Turner together in 2019, when Turner was searching for a new singer for his band.  The pair immediately hit it off, and within two weeks they were on the road together in full time pursuit of a mutual musical dream.  The couple have been riding the highs and lows of the rock ’n’ roll road.  But tonight at the Live Rooms in Chester there were certainly no lows, this was one massive high, the drug of choice was 100% proof Rock and Roll and Parker Barrow delivered it in bucket loads to the captivated audience tonight.

From the moment Megan Kane stepped on stage tonight, she held the audience in the palm of her hand, with her smouldering vocals and charismatic performance.  Megan never stopped moving on stage, swirling around, she reminded me of a young Stevie Nicks, she was clearly a born performer with a voice that ripped you apart.  Megan was clearly in her element on stage and that came across to all in the room.  I, like everyone else in the room, had been Parker Barrow’d, hypnotised by the musical spell.

It may not have been a sold out show tonight but make no mistake that everyone in that room knew they had just witnessed something very special indeed tonight. Parker Barrow will be back in the Uk in November supporting the brilliant Damn Truth, I for one can’t wait, this is going to be an incredible pairing.  Seeing just one show on this tour will not be enough for me.  Twelve UK dates to choose from, how many can I make it to?  Make sure you catch at least one of these shows.
