The Rasmus stormed their way onto mainstream radio and music television back in 2003 with their breakthrough hit “In The Shadows”. That songs rich melody and massive hook took them to the next level globally. To think they had been together and releasing albums for a decade prior to their breakthrough is just incredible.

As massive as the band had become they never toured Australia, but this all changes in January 2026 when The Rasmus bring their new album on the road and take us on a journey that celebrates the history of the band.

Andrew Slaidins sat down with frontman Lauri Ylonen to talk the bands history, the making of the new album ‘Weirdo’, the evolution of the band to today and the upcoming tour. While there is so much ground to cover on a thirty plus year career, they dive into as much as they can in twenty minutes.

A huge thank you to Lauri, BNM, The Phoenix and Maric Media for making it happen.
