In 2006 Laura Cox became a YouTube sensation, playing instrumental versions of her favourite guitar driven songs, this then turned into Laura uploading solo performances, singing her original material in 2008 as well. The progression then led to the formation of the Laura Cox band in 2013. Since then Laura Cox has gone from strength to strength her ability, feel and style has captivated guitar players around the globe and has seen her perform at some of the world biggest rock festivals like Hellfest and Download gathering even more fans along the way.
Her first two albums ‘Burning Bright (2017) and ‘Head Above Water’ (2023) were band projects. With her latest album Laura has thrown away the rule book and released the incredible ‘Trouble Coming’, she has evolved yet again and with this album is making some serious noise yet again. Slaids caught up with Laura to discuss her career and the new album ‘Trouble Coming’. Rest assure this won’t be the last you hear of Laura Cox.
