Elles Bailey has just released her latest single, “Jordan,” marking the fourth track from her EP, ‘The Night Owl & The Lark,’ released on February 9th.
Elles takes the beautiful acoustic guitar lead Rival Son’s song Jordan and turns it on its head creating an epic piano lead soulful rock ballad reminiscent of Joe Cocker. Drenched in soul, beautifully uplifting – it’s music to feed the soul. This collection was expertly recorded with Redtenbacher’s Funkestra.
Elles injects her unique style into the song, creating a beautifully uplifting rendition saturated with soulful vibes. The release demonstrates Bailey’s versatility as a musician, not only as a Blues & Americana Award winner but also as an artist capable of reinterpreting and making a song her own.
Elles says “Jordan is a song that has haunted me in a beautiful way since I first heard it 8 years ago. I was just about to fly to Nashville for the first time and I was utterly spellbound, I must have played it 100 times. I knocked up a demo recording just before getting on the flight but really wanted to record it properly with a band and when the opportunity to record with Redtenbacher’s Funkestra came up I knew it was the perfect song for the session. Can we take a moment for this incredible band who turned my vision of this song into reality and to Kim Keyes – what an incredible backing vocal arrangement! ‘”
Elles is riding high on her recent success as the winner of the 2023 UK Americana Award for Live Act of The Year, further solidifying her position as a dynamic force in the music industry.
