This is the second time through the Twin Cities for Alter Bridge on this tour. It appears they’re winding things down and the tour is coming near an end. This time they brought along Sevendust as their supporting act. I’ve always been a huge fan of Sevendust and found them by accident in the same way that I found Alter Bridge. Both bands were playing at festivals that I ended up photographing.

I always look forward to seeing Sevendust because every member of the band is so incredibly engaged in the performance. They have always struck me as a very humble band that appreciates their fans and all the support. Sevendust is probably one of the most consistent bands out there. They seem to tour at length for every release. They open and Co headlined with lots of different bands. They don’t seem afraid to open for anybody. My understanding though is both bands have a huge amount of respect for one another and are happy to be touring together. I heard a rumor the other day that they are remastering some of Sevendust catalog and releasing something coming up titled Seven by Sevendust. I’m not sure if this is completely accurate so you may want to check their official website for more information.

Alter Bridge, like Sevendust the members of the band give it everything they have when they play live. I can’t get over the incredible musicianship in both bands. One of the things I like best about alter bridge is their incredible ability to write songs that are very familiar and likable the first time you hear them. I think Myles Kennedy has the perfect voice for this music.

I am not exactly sure what’s next for them, many of the members have other projects that day have had great success with. This tour has been going on since spring and so my guess is that they will take a break before they head back in to record another record. In the meantime, while you’re waiting for your next chance to see either of these bands, if you’re not familiar with any of their material check them out on Spotify. It’s an easy way to introduce yourself to a band by choosing five or ten of the most popular songs. Both bands are incredible live and if you’re a fan of music, you won’t be disappointed if you go see them live. Both are incredible and deserve your respect and attention.
