ALBUM REVIEW: Godo & – On Time

The press release reads: “ON TIME is the first solo album composed and written by Claude Gaudefroy aka GODO, with the exceptional participation of several prestigious international musicians, including Craig Blundell, (Steven Wilson) Adam Holzman, (Miles Davis, Steven Wilson) Stu Hamm, (Steve Vai, Joe Satriani), Simon Phillips, (The Who, Toto) conducted and mixed by Michel Taitinger (Les Misérables).” What we get is a much travelled French musician who has dropped a rather stylish and unexpected Pop Rockers.

If you’re in the market for some cool tunes played well then it’s well worth checking out. We loved the light ad breezy opener ‘Hot Time’ which sports a nice cool guitar solo, but there’s plenty more to enjoy too. Try the summery ‘Cruising’ and the captivating ‘Who Stole My Car’ or the sax and brass of ‘Light’ and you’ll just want to enjoy the rest. One of the coolest records of the year.
