Perth’s MAGE release first single of 2022 with ‘PRESSURE’

MAGE’s latest single “Pressure” is a high-tension embodiment of the driving force that MAGE are projecting into 2022 – while embracing a desert rock feel, this track touches on points of hostility and toxic human traits, but brings the same magnitude of sound heard in previous releases, and is a hard and fast paced track that you can dance to.

After playing a sold-out show supporting KARNIVOOL in December 2019 and subsequently experiencing Covid related setbacks, the band jumped straight back onto the scene in 2021 with a catalogue of new material and supporting local headliners like VOYAGER & THE FLOORS.

2022 is set to be an even bigger year as they work on their ever-progressing sound, with more releases and shows on the horizon. “Release, release, release!” says frontman Michael Mcintosh. “What else can you do with the current times – releasing new material is something we’ve been wanting to put energy into for a while so being locked in Perth has given us the clarity to do so. The more the better.”

MAGE’s sound consists of hard and heavy riffs, overdriven guitar and cutting vocals backed by monolithic drums and pervasive basslines. Heavily influenced by the punching, fuzz-laden sounds of Queens of the Stoneage, METZ & All Them Witches, MAGE have created an original sound described as having a drive-y, desert-rock, pop feel which embraces dynamic extremes. “Pressure” will be MAGE’s first release of the year, and will launch at Convenients Northbridge on Saturday, February 19 with Deep State, The Wedges & Mariana.
